So ive decided to build myself a gaming rig ive spent hours researching but i am getting a little overwhelmed. My main concerns about parts would be the motherboard and psu's i dont really know what would be the best for me. My budget is around £800 for the pc but ill be buying parts every month until ive obviously got the complete gear.

I have a couple of the basic parts such as ram and cd/dvd drives i plan on getting intel 2600k and 560 Ti graphics later upgrading to Sli. What i need is a motherboard, i dont know which one would be best for me so im hoping for recommendations, im planning on getting an ssd drive so dont know if that limits my options. Also to run a rig like this what psu would be suited?

My case i am working with is the In Win Dragon Rider Full Tower E-ATX.

Any help will be much appreciated.

what sort of budget are you looking to work with ?

is there a particular reason your looking at the 2600K as your processor, it tends to be better if your looking at video editing etc, over the 2500K.

also, would be worth a look at the ivybridge processors, more recent release over the 2500/2600K.

motherboard wise the Z77 models would be worth a look.

PSU wise if your looking to sli the 560ti's i'd look at a decent make 650W+ model.

is the ram DDR3 and are you cd/dvd drives the sata models ?

the ram is ddr3 and the drives are also sata. There is no real reason i was looking at the 2600k other than my price range, Would the Intel Core i7-3770S be a better choice for gaming?

I'll take a look at the Z77 but is there a specific one thats recommended or are they pretty much all worthy?

For gaming no. The i5-3570K 3.40GHz is one of the best gaming processors at there at the moment. You wont notice much improvement with the i7:)

Thanks for the advice, saving me some money there! hehe so how about a motherboard im coming across a lot of z77 models, the only ones i know i should be looking at are those that support Sli and the i5-3570k but im still getting abit lost. Sorry if i sound abit useless just my first time building a pc and kinda get nervous that ill do something drastic and waste my budget on something i cant use!

Thanks but one last question, is there much difference in mATX and ATX? im guessing they both would meet the fittings of my case just wondering if there was any drawbacks.

no real drawbacks i've ever come across, had both and never had any real issues with either.

as long as they do what you want its really just a matter of preference imo.

have a look round for reviews of any mobo you like the look of (also got a motherboard forum here worth a look in :) ), then post up what you like the look of and people will be more than happy to help you out.
