hi,

im in the middle of a build in which im getting a coolermaster HAF and already bought the thermalright true 120 black heatsink.

i have removed from the old case > 6 case fans of which i had

3x xigmatek xlf-f1253 (black/orange fins/white light) (120mm ... 1500rpm... 61cfm ... under 20dba)

and

3x a.c.rynan blackfire 4 (blue uv frame/orange uv fins/ uv light) (120mm ...2000rpm ... 29dba ... 77cfm)

what i need to know which to use on the heatsink and which on the HAF side panel, bearing in mind the case insides will be using uv lights.

i only ask as some say the true is best with 1500 and some say 2000+ but then that gets noiser and im not sure if 4x1500 is comparable cfm wise to the 230mm fan on the HAF side door.

cheers.

The blades of the HAF 230mm fans are in fact only 190mm. 4 half decent 120mm will give you superior airflow. If you are looking for very quiet fans - noctuas are hard to beat. They move a lot of air and are very quiet. You may want to wait out for the new Noctua NF-S12B which is coming out soon, if you are going down that route.

the xigmateks should do a good job on your HSF, use the a.c.rynans on the case, maybe hook them upto a fan controller so you can lower the speed and hence noise

thats what i thought..:D cheers.

just wanted to check as i wasnt sure the high cfm on the acryans would be better suited for the hsf...but loads of reviews state they use the noct and xig fans.
by the way im getting one of the new dominator dual fan ddr3 memory coolers and wondered if they had any problems fitting onto high heatsinks on memory as i needed a 6 slot cooler.

memory got is g-skill pi 1600 fs-12800cl8t

thanks again.
