I currently have a setup which is around 6 years old which i've bought various bits and pieces from OC over the years. It's pretty much dieing out on me at the moment and I'm looking to upgrade it immediately. I'm trying to salvage as much as possible to reduce my cost and upgrade the rest just before Xmas. I would reuse Case,PSU,HDD & optical drive for a few months, although next top priority upgrade would be to get a pci-e gfx card since I only have an agp card and i'm not keen on using the onboard gfx from the mobo for that long!
I need to know 2 thing's really (OC doesn't sell either of these products anymore they're that old lol).
I currently have an Enermax Liberty ELT400AWT 400W power supply
http://www.enermaxusa.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=81
Is this compatible with an Athlon AM2/AM3 mobo and/or Intel LGA 775/1156/1366 mobo?
I also have an Antec Lanboy case
http://www.antec.com/specs/LANBOY.html
Is this case big enough for pci-e gfx cards to fit in?
If the answer to the above 2 questions is yes then i looking at buying the following:
Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2H AMD 740G (Socket AM3/AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £44.99
AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 240 2.80GHz (Socket AM3) £45.99
Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel £49.98
Antec 200 Two Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case £37.98 (if case is not worth saving)
Corsair CX 400W ATX Power Supply £39.99 (if PSU is not useable)
With the PSU+case it brings me upto £218 (call it £230 with delivery cost) or without PSU+case £140 (£150 with delivery)
Thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated as i'm looking to possibly get this order in before the weekend so I have time to build it on Saturday.
