Hi all,

With Black Friday coming up, I am keeping an eye out on Monitors as there seems to be some good deals.
I don't have much experience with monitors as I have owned mostly gaming laptops.

I am currently looking at:

Samsung 27" Odyssey LS27AG550EUXXU 2560x1440 VA 165Hz 1ms FreeSync Premium Curved Gaming Monitor

Or.

AOC 27" 27G2SPAE/BK 1920x1080 IPS 165Hz 1ms FreeSync Widescreen Gaming Monitor

I am undecided on 1440p over 1080p as I have always used 1080p.
My current laptop is the MSI GT73VR Titan Pro with the i7 6820k, GTX1070 and 32gb RAM.

Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Thankyou,
Tom

Going to 1440p takes a lot more gpu performance so first question is will your gpu give you the fps in the games you play at 1440p ?

Mite be worth dropping to a 24 inch monitor for 1080p but do some comparision.
I have done some reading online and it does seem 24" is the way to go for 1080p. Beyond that you are looking at 1440p. For now 1080p at 24" is ideal, this way it allows me to add a bigger monitor in the future at 1440p+ and use the 24" as a secondary.
