I know nothing about tablets but with the upcoming Amazon Prime day, the Ttaskmistress wants to get the Ttasklets (under 5yrs) a tablet that can run all the little Paw Patrol games and learning apps on Google Play, which they're currently struggling through on her janky old Galaxy Tab A6.

Android is a must, perhaps even one of the Amazon Fire models.
Need decent cpu speed and RAM, ideally with SD card expandable storage, or reasonable on-board space.
Size around the 10" mark, but a bit either way is fine.

Budget roughly £150 or lower, ideally with an insane deal through Amazon.

What are the current suggestions, please?

Prime day starts tomorrow, I would try see if you can get the Tab A8 2022 version if it ever comes on sale.

How dependant are you on the Google Play store? I haven't checked in a long while but apparently there was issues getting Google Play to work on the newer Fire tablets, although that was last year so there so it should hopefully be working now.

I don't know... I try to avod being locked into Amazon, myself, but the wife is an idiot.

The Amazon Appstore seems to have some stuff, but I'm hoping to avoid us getting caught paying subscriptions for stuff, especially since the Alexa thing lacks a lot of content even with Prime. I'm used to just installing whatever I want on a standard Android platform, and my experiences with her Alexa is why I was wary of Her Ladyship jumping on more of Amazon's own brand stuff.

I bought the new Amazon Fire Tablet 11 max on sale for Prime day for £139 yesterday. Side loaded the Play Store and all is working great so far. You can add a stylus or/and a keyboard later if you desire.
