Hello,

Iv been looking at water cooling my current PC with a budget of £250-£300 the catch is id like to cool the GPU as well

What I want to cool :-

  • AMD FX-8350 (Stock)
  • R290 (Referance card / MSI)

(Please note I don't want to overclock these) Just get an almost silent rig.

The case I have is a coolermaster HAF+ 912

I was looking at :-

  • XSPC RayStorm 750 EX240 WaterCooling Kit £130
  • EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal £80
  • EK Water Blocks EK-CoolStream PE 120 (Single) £30

Totals about £240 (then about £30 for extra fittings / tubing ect.)

But I really have very little idea of how well that would work.

Also I will probably get the CPU under water first .... and then the GPU a month or two after.

Any advice would be amazing :)

It looks like a good basic setup for a silent rig (depending upon the fans). Also add the EK 290x backplate I know its only really cosmetic but it does look good I have one for mine.

Change the ek coolstream for a XSPC RX120 Single Fan Radiator V3 when they come out.

Would you be interested in having a external radiator?? This would give you significant upgrade/flexability potential like having a twin 120/140 rad mounted externally.

After some looking about i have made a "wish list"

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-DCP 4.0 X-RES (Incl. Pump) £79.99
1 x EK CoolStream Radiator XT 240 (120.2) £38.99
1 x EK-Supreme LTX AMD - Acetal CSQ - AMD Waterblock £29.99
1 x XSPC HighFlex Hose 3/8" ID, 5/8" OD, 16/10mm, 2m, Black £6.49
8 x XSPC G1/4" to 3/8" ID, 5/8" OD Compression Fitting (Chrome) £2.99 (£23.92)
Total : £188.96 (includes shipping : £8.00).

The extra compression fitting is to attach to the top of the res for filling and draining, will this work ? as the pump / res will be at the bottom of the loop (best for draining)

Thanks
