For someone who is an extreme enthusiast, wanting the very best of parts, is it ideal in waiting a couple of months for the next build? I'm aware of the 5960x but is there anything else I need to catch up on? And in regards to these new chipsets, I take it they won't work on boards such as the rampage IV?

Trying to do a bit of catching up!

Haswell-E will support DDR4 so I doubt that the current boards will be compatible. Also the new cpu's will run on a different chipset (X99).

What are you looking to do with this 'extreme' pc ? :D

Just be careful, there is a difference between the best for your uses and 'the best of the best'..

Its more the financial difference rather than performance.

Just make sure you're not throwing thousands of pounds (and it may be in this senario) down the drain.

Couldn't have put it better
