Hi there peeps!!

been out of the loop for a while building PCs!! Was wondering if anyone knows a good mobo combo to go with an i3 for a home office PC... with the option to upgrade to an i5 in few years time??
There seems to be a LOT of socket types im not familiar with :o

budget is around £65 for mobo, 95 for CPU, so £160 ttl. If £65 is more than enough for an i3, that would be great as more money to be spent on a better PSU! :D

Will be pairing this up with 8gb corsair memory and a 120gb OCZ SSD.

THANKS

Stretch that little bit more for a basic Z77 motherboard and an i3. This'll let you overclock your i5/i7 in the future and be fully compatible with Ivy Bridge CPUs and all the features they bring. For example the MSI Z77A-G43.

If your not interested in any of that then a basic H61 motherboard will be fine, I would personally go for the Gigabyte H61MA-D3V. USB 3.0, SATA 6Gb/s and UEFI BIOS.

the new Ivy bridge I3's should be out tomorrow mate might be worth taking another look then, either there gonna drop the sandy prices or give you more bang for your buck with one of them having the new HD4000 graphics.
