Advice on issue with purchasing a used car from Audi

Hi Everyone,

To cut a long story short, I purchased a car two weeks from an Audi garage that told me it had had a small paint repair to the front passengers wing. I was happy enough to go through with the deal.

Two days later the passenger door handle fell off and after a few days of investigation it turns out that the passenger door has been repaired, but the bodyshop broke the internal handle, and ended up painting the door flat white (no metalic flake), and the rear quarter extra metalic (don't ask).

They have taken the car back and are repainting the entire passengers side.

I'm not really happy, but other than let them do the work I don't know what else I can do.

To make matters worse, literally a day after I bought the car, a gust of wind took the drivers door out of my hand and hit a wall putting a small crack in it. Audi said it needs a new door, so I don't think I can reject the car.

Talk about bad luck :(

You're well within you're rights to walk away from that, and frankly I would. It's a massive red flag for the level of the repair work which was done.

Reject it.

I was been sorely disappointed with Audi approved used cars when looking for one. The condition was terrible and they used the excuse that they hadn't had time to valet it. But all it meant was that I saw just how badly the car had been treated during its life. The door handle and poor repair you've seen are just indications of how the car has been treated. If it were me I wouldn't take the chance and would reject it. It's not as if an Audi is a rare car and you would struggle to find a replacement.

Sorry guys, I had a phone call whilst making the first post and missed something very important out.

Had a bit of a moan and a whinge to Audi

They say I can reject the car, but pay for them to repair the drivers door.......but they are also offering me another car at a good deal (heading to the Audi thread now)

Thanks everyone
