Hi all,

My G9 mouse has a problem with the Left button and doesn't always click or when held down stops working unless I press it very hard. I have tried cleaning it and have taken it to bits to make sure there is nothing in the switch but it is no better.

I really like this mouse but am wondering if anyone who has used this mouse can recommend anything better for gaming and if so what reasons it is better? I am looking for wired only, no wireless.

The only thing I never liked about this mouse is the cable is too thin to stay in the channels under my G11 keyboard which were made for it. It always seemed strange to me that Logitech designed this nice feature into the keyboard then made the most likely mouse to be used with it so it doesn't fit.

TIA

I had the original boomslang years ago and liked it but fear it would be too flat for me these days, how does the Death Adder compare in shape as it looks quite flat in the pictures?

it's not flat trust me i have one and my brother who plays a lot of quakelive recently changed to it from a ms 3.0 then to a mx518 to finally admit that a deathadder was best and got one compared to the boom slang its a bit bigger designed only for right handed gamers and feels like silk look just trust me its the best mouse out there

RMA the mouse and get a replacement, Logitech are great with there support. If the G9 is available they will send a direct replacement, if not they will offer you an alternative which you could then either keep or sell to reduce the cost of your next one :)

I bought it 27 Nov 2007, what is the warranty on these things anyway?

I have contacted them, Only problem is I no longer have the Large Grip that came with it as it started to wear on the edges so I chucked it away, I guess I could have got it replaced but didnt think at the time it was still under warranty.

macca672 - I just wanted to say thanks for the suggestion. They were out of stock of the G9 so there is a brand new G9x on its way to me. I have to say Logitech's Support service was great.

Neither, they just asked for the Model, Serial Number and Part number plus the purchase date and point of purchase. They have processed the order and it should be here within 14 days.

they always used to ask you to destroy the old one and send them a pic of it being destroyed, fun times :D

they told me fourteen days but i got mine in only a couple of days, should send you a tracking number soon :)
