Hi All,

Im looking to pass on my old machine to the parents and put together a smaller box used primarily for coding, video / photo bits and bob. I tend to stick towards components that will last for years without any maintanence.

OS I have sorted and I believe the Corsair 250D will take my old Corsair 750W HX Modular PSU (although not sure if that is a wise idea or if the connections will fit).

At the moment my basket is looking like this:

The main component I'm lost with is the Motherboard, what do people think is best?

Does anyone have any recommendations on whether I should I use thermal past with the CPU cooler?

Thanks,
Matt

The reason I went for the H55 is because I would love a quiet machine (as quiet as possible). But if temps are kept down and therefore the fans are kept kept lower then H100i sounds fair, can anyone coemt to noise levels (I'm not over the top about noise but just a nod of "its not actually that bad" would be appreciated).

After reading some reviews I think I'll stick with gigabyte. Seems like a good middle ground for features.
