Ive currently got a HP 23xi which i got at cut price as i work for HP - http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/products/monitors/product-detail.html?oid=5328978#!tab=features
Its actually a pretty nice monitor, colours and whites are awesome. No ghosting and in general plays well with all types of media and games. Even managed to overclock to 73hz with no issues.
For some reason (it must be a boys and their toys thing right?!) I wanted to check out 3d gaming. I purchased a LG D2343P Passive 23" screen - http://www.lg.com/hk_en/monitors/lg-D2343P-home
First thing i did was try imax under the sea and WOW, it looked amazing, like looking through a window. But then i tried normal every day things like web browsing and docs and the 2d view was awful due to washed out whites and horizontal interlacing lines. It was actually giving me a headache. I downloaded the free trial of Tridef and whilst games look good (plenty of depth) it doesnt give you that 3d you think you get (objects coming out at you etc), it just gave a bit more sense of immersion. After playing around with settings all the time and getting a slight headache i thought, sod it, back it foes for refund.
So, this leads me onto my main point - Ive got a spare £170 from the refund on the 3d screen, so do i look to go up a level from my HP like look for a 120hz (if in this price range), or just stay with the HP if its going to cost me an arm and a leg for anything a lot better?
Any advice would be appreciated.
