Advice on Monitor

I'm looking at a new monitor for my GTX980Ti powered system.

As there are so many choices, different technologies in monitors nowadays it's bloody difficult trying to choose something. I'm currently using a Asus MG279Q 2560x1440 144Hz monitor, before anyone mentions, yes it's a Freesync monitor on a Nvidia GPU. But it works fantastically, I don't get any screen tear, lagging or any other issues that I can notice anyway. It's a great monitor. Anyway nows the time to hand it off to the wife, for her laptop and for me to get a nice new shiny monitor. I don't care if my next one is Freesync or G-Sync but I have some unknowns.

Dropping to something below 144Hz, will I notice the difference? I play mainly Elite Dangerous, but also GOW4, Forza, Assasins Creed and few FPS

Dropping to a 1080P panel, again is there much noticeable difference?

Also there's the question of these ultra wide monitors. I've seen Elite Dangerous running on a 29inch widescreen and it looks great, but what about other games, can all of them handle a ultra-widescreen?

I'm a bit dissapointed with the IPS screen, I do get a bit of light-bleed in the bottom corners, especially p[laying at night. So would moving to a VA panel, like the Samsungs below, be good, bad or downright ugly?

As for my possibilities I quite like the look of these:

Samsung Freesync monitors, specifically the Samsung C32HG70 32" 2560X1440 VA FREESYNC 144HZ GAMING QUANTUM DOT HDR but no-ones reviewed on yet, anyone seen one in the flesh or have any opinions. I'm not dropping in resolution of refresh rates, so its fairly close to what I'm running now, only bigger.

There's also the Samsung C34F791 34" 3440X1440 VA FREESYNC 100HZ, my question with this one is if I drop from a 144Hz monitor to a 100Hz monitor, is this noticeable?

Then we have the AGON AG352UCG 35" 3440X1440 IPS G-SYNC 100HZ WIDESCREEN ULTRAWIDE CURVED LED MONITOR - not far off the Samsung C34F791 above but its G-Sync, so more suited to my GPU, but it drops to 100Hz. No reviews though.

I've read through loads of posts on this forum and I know it's pot luck to some extent but would appreciate some input.

Thanks

If you managed to get a good Asus I would be very hesitant to role the dice again. Maybe buy your wife a nice Dell UP 25" Direct from Dell with the extended warranty.

90% of gaming monitors are terrible and returning the things is a nightmare.
