Hi guys, I'm a total newbie at this but I've had a look online at a couple of resources for information, and I've come up with the specifications for a build I'd like to try, but before I buy anything I could do with some tips. My overall budget is £300-£400 and this build is looking like it fits nicely in that category. One of my concerns at the moment is that I'm not sure if I'll need additional power supply or cooling. Secondly, I'm not sure if the hardware I'm looking at is necessarily compatible or likely to work better than other options in the same price range. If somebody could give it a quick look over and give me some tips, I'd be really grateful. Thanks in advance, here's the specs:

Coolermaster RC-600 Gladiator Case - Black [RC-600]

£62

Motherboard
Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3LR Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard [GA-EP45T-UD3LR]
£85

Memory Modules
Corsair Value 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low Voltage Dual-Channel Kit
£44

Power Supply
Don't know if I'm going to need one or if the case has one or what...

Video Card
OcUK GeForce GT 440 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card [SXT4401024S3NM] (I know this isn't yet available but I can probably wait till it is).
£60

Total cost: ~£355

Any tips would be really thankfully received.

hows that, no need to spend £400, so have keep the cost closer to the £350 mark.

Buying a new LGA775 platform is not a wise idea.

whats the pc to be used for?

a superior build, this one is better and coming from me that is something since I have become stulid's sworn enemy

6644kp stop being a whiney baby and just learn the hard way. Stulid isn't bashing you he's teaching you in a weird way.

I tried building a 775 system because I knew jack **** and bought an ebay bundle thinking i could get dual core for £60 and meet minimum requirements.
Lucky you came here! Wish I had done sooner

Thanks for the tips, I was trying to spend £300-£400 on a PC for gaming, ideally. I was hoping to go for a 1GB graphics card though, how much difference am I really going to notice with the drop to 512mb? What's the problem with the 775 platform? Thanks in advance :)

Ah, so its a gaming pc, thats all I needed to know:)

Buying a old 775 system in these days is the biggest dead end, since Columbus fell of the edge of the earth.

just because the Gt440 comes with 1GB of ram doesnt make it good for gaming, to put it bluntly it sucks the **** big time.
