Hey guys,

I've been following these forums for a while now, but need some advice on the computer I'm about to build, as it's going to be my first time.

Case: BitFenix Prodigy/Phenom mini ITX
CPU: Haswell i5 4570
GPU: ASUS GTX 760 mini 2gb
RAM: 8gb
Hardrive: 1 64gb SSD for the system, and a 1TB for everything else.

I need some advice on the motherboard, cooling, and PSU.

I plan to use the system for mainly gaming, BF4 etc. I don't plan on overclocking any part of my system.

I was recommended the H87I-mini ITX motherboard. Is that a good choice?

Also would a 650w PSU be okay? If so, can you recommend any good products/brand names?

In terms of cooling, I live in central China, where it gets extremely humid during the summer, and is also quite dusty. I am not interested in watercooling, as it's too expensive. How many extra fans and of what quality would be needed for my prodigy/phenom build to keep it ticking over without causing any heat problems?

Thanks in advance!
Jack

I'll give this a bump, as I can't really help much.

I'm not sure if you'll get a 650watt PSU to go in a mini itx case easily though.

BitFenix Prodigy with support a full size PSU so no problems but you dont need 650w any 400w+ will be fine and you should get a modular one

It will also support a full-length GPU, so no need to go for the 760 mini. For that money you can get a 7970 or a 280x.

If you're worried about cooling I'd go for the Prodigy over the Phenom as it has side vents. The front panel (the black one, at least) is also better ventilated. Get a 200 or 230mm fan for the front, a 140mm one for the back, and a couple of 120mm fans in the top. Corsair's Air Flow fans (AF120 and AF140) are highly regarded. There's less choice in the 200-230mm range.

Make sure your PSU is under 160mm. As P4Clock said, it doesn't need to be anywhere near 650w.

If you don't plan on overclocking then yes a H87I will do you fine.

And any PSU under 160mm will fit. Something like a Corsair CX 500w will do you nicely. Or Seasonic PSUs are decent PSUs from experience.

I'd avoid the CX series and go for one of theses.

The S12II's are both 140mm the rest are 160mm, all are very good quality.

The Seasonic G 550 is the only modular one, the rest are not.
