Advice on my new build for years!

Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum but already have seen so many helpful people which is refreshing.

Below is what i have been thinking for my build. The build will be pretty much exclusively for Gaming (for SWTOR and possibly Battlefield 3 or equivalent). My budget will be about £800 to £1000 abserloute max!

I7 2600k (although not sure if this is best for gaming)
P8P67 Pro
8-16gb Ram (not sure on speed)
1-2gb HD
Cooling unsure - watercooling considered
Case???
Power??
GPU unknown it all depends on whats left? Nvidia or AMD i have not got a clue!

I am not brand loyal and open to suggestions and you have
 
The i5-2500K is as good as the i7 2600-K for gaming so you can save some money there.

4GB of RAM is enough for a gaming rig and 8GB is plenty.

You don't say if you need an operating system or any peripherals such as monitor, keyboard or mouse.
 
stick with the i5 2500k if its purely for gaming.

and 2GB of storage space? :p

this would be a rough spec

i5 2500k
asrock z68 gen3
8gb, since prices are so low atm
2TB HDD
64GB SSD
Antec Kuhler 620 or equivalent
case, personal choice so whatever tickles your pickle
power, depends on GPU, but probably around 750w-850w quality unit from antec,corsair,xfx,ocz.
GPU, either 6950 2GB or GTX570.

EDIT:: forgot about optical drive, a blu-ray if it fits in the budget.

Monitor, keyboard, mouse - all from a separate budget

I will need an OS if anyone has any good ideas on where to get it at a good price!
