Advice on my setup - what games can I run, should I upgrade it any more?

Hey, I have a 3 year old Evesham desktop I have upgraded, I am curious as to what games I can run, and if it is still worth upgrading it anymore..

Spec:

- Single Core Intel 3.2Ghz

- Intel 915P/G express chipset based combo motherboard. (That's roughly what it says on the manual)

- NVIDIA Gainward overclocked 7600 GT (upgraded from a 6600GT)

- 2 gig of DDR2 RAM I got from OcUK, I think it was the Geil that was advertised loads? (upgraded from 1 gig of DDR)

All on WinXP media centre.

- I know it's not a great setup, and am pretty sure it wouldn't handle Crysis, but can I buy COD4? Assassin's Creed? Would they run ok on lower settings?

- Also is there much point in upgrading any of the components for the cash, or is the next thing a completely new rig?

Thanks!

COD4, yup, no problem if you run it at 1024x768. Crysis, hard one, ive seen videos on youtube of people running crysis with onboard graphics, no idea if they are real or not lol.

Assassin's Creed should be ok. My 3500+ athlon/7800GS can run it at 1024x768, so I would imagine you could too.

Yup your 7600GT will handle crysis on medium settings with shadows off.

As for upgrading, you havea good amount of ram, that P4 can still handle games fine, so just consider upgrading graphics if your PSU can take it.

my cpu is lot better than urs but

i play cod 4 800x600 91fps constant
source 1920x1080 70-100 (depending on action somtimes 40 lol)
crysis 800x600 all low
cnc3 1920x1080 30-50

So to confirm -

- I can still run any game out to a reasonable level
- You are suggesting spending just over £100 on an 8800GT is still worth it, I will get good gains for the money? Think I have a 300 or 350W PSU

ive just gone from a 7900gs 256 to a 8800gt 512 to a 8800gts 512 and the diffrence from the gs to the 8800gt is quite large, you may be able to paly the games on your 7600gt but the 8800gt will allow you to play all games(except crysis) the way they are meant to be played.

get an 8800gt and e2200 it will cost u approx 200£ inc vat and good upgrade.

ps im not sure if your motherboard can take dual cores do u should u should ask someone.

Your rig is very similar to mine except your processor is a bit better. Don't upgrade till it won't run something well that is very important to you. No point wasting money :)
