Hello, i'm new arround here and was wondering if i could get some advice on a new computer i'm hoping to build.
I am looking to build a gaming rig that can play Battlefield 2, Oblivion, Tomb Raider Legend and the next Guild Wars at decent/max settings if possible, but my budget is £1,000, I am looking at spending that on the tower only as I already have a flatscreen and mouse/keyboard.
So far i have come up with

Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA1065)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 "LGA775 Conroe" 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail
Asus P5K Deluxe WiFi Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
Hitachi Deskstar T7K500 NCQ 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CMPSU-620HXUK)

Will this do what i want and are there any better alternatives to what i have chosen?
I'm not looking to overclock it at all.

Thanks in advance

That looks great actually :)

I guess the only change I could think of is related to you not overclocking at all. You would honestly be better saving money and getting the ddr2-667 Ballistix. I mean you could even choose to get 4gb of it for the same price as the ddr2-1066. Or you could use the £70 saved on bumping up some of the other components ie: changing the BFG 8800gtx oc to an oc2 + getting the 500gb t7k500.

Agree with him (expect the OC2 part) :)

You don't need the 620W Corsair unless going SLi. 520W one will do just fine for that spec & even more (just not 8800 SLi).

Also, change the hard disk to either a Seagate 7200.10 or Western Digital ****AAKS & spec is good ;)

I have just finnished building and am having some trouble with vista, when i try and run battlefield 2 punkbuster boots me after 5 mins with a error that it cant contact the server. I have disabled windows defender and am running in administrator mode.
Also i'm not sure i have the processor and memory setup properly, in CPU-Z it shows the moddel as E6850 and under clocks/core at 2003.7 mhz, under memory tab and timings it has frequency at 400.8mhz. is this correct?
