Advice on New Build

Swap the GTX 260 for the Radeon 4870 1GB.

And get a WD Caviar Black HDD with the money you save.

Im getting a PC for the same budget for you, but chose the ASUS M3A79-T mobo instead, you really want either 790GX or 790FX mobo, with the SB750 chipset. If you can push the boat out, go with the ASUS, thats 790FX if not, the Biostar TA790GX 128mb with the integrated graphics is also a good mobo for about £75.

Other than that, looks pretty good.

All looks good, couple of suggestions:

Get this RAM, the dominator is not worth it.

This PSU is very high quality and more power for better future upgrading. Not modular though,so if thats an issue a Be Quiet (or Corsair) are good options.

This DVD drive is better; better writing quality and faster.

If you plan on overclocking - a cooler like this should give you a lot of extra CPU performance.

This card has pretty much the same performance and for quite a bit less.

Also, what monitor are you going to use with your new PC? Your rig is going to be very powerful, make sure you have a monitor capable of displaying its awesomeness in highest detail :)

Thanks for the quick replies,

Point taken on the gpu, I hadn't done much homework on benchmarks and ofc you're all correct so consider it changed ;)

I'm obsessive over cables so modular suits me well, i didn't think the corsair tx series was but if it is then I'll switch that in too as its a good bit cheaper.

Ram i know little about so I'll take your advice and get the cheaper stuff which gives me a few extra quid for a mobo change as well.

The sony drive makes sense as well thanks andi.

For the monitor i got a cheap deal on a repaired samsung T260 that's as new but with no warranty ~

Thanks again for the input, will be ordering next week, probably after a few last minute tweaks :)

Lovely monitor, with that size/resolution though it might be worth going for the 4890 if you can stretch that far. 4870 will cope, just perhaps will need a XFire upgrade or something within a couple years if you are a heavy gamer.
Otherwise the suggestions so far have covered the rest so looks good :)

Not going to change the mobo? I would seriously recommend going with a 790GX or 790FX mobo.

The ASUS M3A79-T is going for £90 which is insanely cheap and if you want a link, I can PM you it since it is a competitor. But seriously dont skimp on the mobo.
