Can anyone recommend a CPU cooler, or will I need one? (I'm not sure if I'll OC).

Performance wise, is the Samsung 830 256GB notebook version the same as the desktop version?

I was looking at the G.Skill RipJawsZ 32GB ram, but I can get the Corsair pack cheaper. I don't think there'll be any noticeable difference?

In terms of cable management, I'd like to put in a 5.25" card reader, but I heard that they need a lot of wiring?

A decent CPU cooler will keep the CPU, well, cooler, and also quieter. Dunno how far you can overclock 'safely' on the 3770K, probably around 4.2-4.4GHz. It's 25% clock boost? So not too shabby. There are plenty of coolers around, I'd say something around $50 would do the job. You have a big case, so you can even go with the massive ones.

Yes. It's a slimmer version for fitting into notebooks. Works exactly the same for desktops.

Not really. One caveat with the vengeance if their high heatsinks (unless you go with the low profile version). If you go with an after market cooler, you'll probably have to get a water cooling unit (H60, H80, H100, Antec H2O).

Most likely. Still it should be easy to cable-manage.

Good components, expensive motherboard if you are not gonna overclock but whatever. You have integrated wifi with that board.

Unless you're using Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, just get 16gig of ram. Home premium can only access 16gig maximum.

My card reader has one cable which plugs into a mobo USB header... and that's it!

EDIT: Looking at what you plan to do with the rig, I guess you may have Ulti or Pro version anyway...

I'm getting the corsair low profile ram. I'll get a CPU cooler, OCing seems like a good option. I'll have a nose around at some card readers. Thanks for the advice.
