Hi All,

Its been a while since ive been "under the hood" of machine building so would appreciate some advice on the following components im thinking of ordering for a new rig.

Dont want to spend a fortune on top-spec but im looking for something half decent.

Would be good to hear if anyone has any view on component compatibility or suggest better alternatives (of approx same cost)

  • Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
  • OCZ Vertex Series 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (OCZSSD2-1VTX60G)
  • Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - OEM
  • Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)
  • MSI P55-CD53 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
  • OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply
  • Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black
  • Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler (Socket 939 / AM2 / AM3 / 775 / 1156 / 1366)
  • OcUK Value 2.5" to 3.5" Hard Drive Adapter

Thanks in advance

Thanks, love the photos of your arrived bits :) forgot how opening that big box feels.

On another note, havent purchased from OC before and wondered what the general view is ?

Im thinking i might by the GPU from OC but the rest from ****** as it works out about 8% cheaper and ive never had any issues with them.

Very good service imo. Don't buy that much stuff unfortunately but when I do I've never had any problems. Not had to return anything either but I regularly see people saying they've had no problems doing so if they've had to.

Yeah, I had just mentioned the Patriot ram in my build thread, also wasn't sure, as it's cheaper but slighter on top. Looks good though!!
