hi folks,
its 3 years since i got my system, and while its been upgraded a bit over that time, its just about hit its limits in terms of gaming.
the idea of the setup is gaming and work (photoshop, flash etc), leaning more towards gaming.

i've been lurking for a while, picking up bits of info and the like and ive put together this selection of bits and bobs, i dont want to admit it to myself but i am a noob when it comes to this after being out of the scene for a while. :p

what id like to know is will there be any major bottlenecks or compatibility issues ive overlooked. im willing to upgrade certain bits, but not anything majorly expencive. as for price, around £800 give or take £30 is the idea. with the idea of not having to upgrade again for a while.
i already have a lian-li a10b case and my resolution is 1680x1050.
id prefer it keeps the graphics card, (im not nessicarily an nvidia fanboy but its all i know in terms of graphics cards)

Also, bear in mind this isnt going to be bought straight away, i still need to gather the funds together, so if there are any parts that could be upgraded for newer components within the next month or so, without much change in price, please comment.

thanks in advance :)

Good spec, if your gaming have a look at the E8XXX range, you could also get away with a smaller psu.

thanks for the replies :)
only reason i was going for quad was that i had heard good things about it, i havent really looked at other cpus. looking at the ones in stock here, i assume a wolfdale would have better lasting power than the Q6600? and if i did go with one, would there be any problems with compatibility etc. again, im a relative noob to the newer stuff.

I should also mention i would probably be looking to overclock, not by anything substantial due to air cooling and ability, just a stable 24/7 oc.
thanks again
