Okay, I have had enough of slowdown and playing at a lower res than my monitor can support, on BF2142.
So, I want to upgrade what I have, or start again.
I currently have:
Dell XPS Gen 3
P4 3.2 GHz
2GB Crucial DDR533 memory
74GB WD Raptor
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music
ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB
Pioneer DVDRW Drive
Viewsonic VP201S 20.1" TFT (1600x1200)
Can I just upgrade what I have somehow, to make it better, or should I look at a whole new system?
If I upgrade what I have, I was thinking of an 8800GTS and maybe some better memory - how much would this help?
If I was to 'start again', what do I need to go for? Budget isn't really fixed, but I'm not one for paying over the odds for the latest tech, I don't mind something slightly older, but better value.
