Hey everyone,

Was just looking for some advice on this build:

There is also the obligatory PCI wifi and card reader but I have that currently. (And in case you want to ask, my current PC – I use a laptop atm – is a 1Ghz Celeron :D so cant salvage much!)

My plan is to keep this system for a while and upgrade through in a couple of years. My plan will be to add a second GTX260, upgrade the CPU as new processors are released for 1156, upgrade the ram and perhaps adding in a second hard drive if I need more data space (hard to forsee atm, but you never know!)

Really was just wondering if the PSU is overkill for my upgrade ideas (was also looking at the Corsair 650w?) I don’t really want to have to purchase a new psu in a couple of years if it would only cost £30 or so more now to plan ahead for my system.

Also, I’m slightly confused with how the supported memory speed works for this board; will 1333mhz ram be the fastest supported, or can I use 1600mhz or faster for a performance increase?

Finally, from what I can find the GTX260 is the best performance for price, but just wanted to ask your opinions as I notice a fair few ATI systems being shown on the forums?

Thanks

Andy

If you're buying a PSU to last then you've done the right thing there - that should last for a fair while.
As to the GTX260 being the best performance for price? Don't know what sites you've been reading but I'm guessing they must be Green Fansites; the HD4890 outperforms it and is in the majority of cases £10 cheaper than the 260.
As for the RAM speed, I'm pretty sure that if it states the max is 1333 then that's what it is; although don't quote me on it :)
