Finaly got all my stuff together for my new build bar graphics(still unsure wether to go 3x580 or 2 6990).

But i now have my I7 980x and Rampage 3 all plugged in and raring to go, now im not new to ocing had my I7 920 to 4.2 rock stable but this is the first time ive actualy overclocked an unlocked cpu, so if anybody can advice i have a few questions.

1. Is it better to oc the 980 heaverly on its multi, on its BLCK or both evenly.
2. Is the safe(if there is such a thing) volts and temps still around the nothing more than 1.4 and nothing more than 65, absoloutely tops high 60's for 24/7 use.

At the moment all i have tried is undervolting at stock speed of 3.33 and so far i can get the CPU prime stable for 8h @1.04375 which i believe to be pretty good at which gives me idle temps of 26,27,21,26,25,22 and highest temps at load were 40,43,36,40,39,38. Cpu is cooled on its own loop with 1/2 tubing, 18w Swifteck pump, EK HF WB and SR-1 360 rad.
Took these readings using Open Hardware Monitor as this supports the 6 core processors correctly(and much more).

any advice would be extreamly welcome, thanks in advance :)

Ok went ahead and fiddled.

have managed to get the CPU to [email protected] using 166x27, after 1 hour of OCCt Open hardware monitor reports max temps of:

67.66.58.62.64.65

Are these fine, or possible a little high, havent tried lowing the vcore as i believe that low its probably as low as it would get.
