Hi, I would like overclock my computer to around 3GHz (I am a noob at this) after reading some threads on here would these setting be ok to start with?

CPU volts 1.304 volts
RAM 2.1 volts 5,5,5,15
1333MHz FSB (QDR)

do I have to change the fsb/memory ratio (eg 1:1 or leave on auto)? Is it just the case of simply raising my FSB to 1333mhz?

I know every system is different but I don`t know where to start, any other settings I have not covered please advise me.

thank you very much.

the FSB is quad pumped to make the 1333Mhz figure, so in real terms that means a value of 333Mhz as an FSB

You can manually set the multiplier on the memory to keep it at or around the 800Mhz it rated to.

the E6600 has a 9x multiplier, so for 3Ghz you would need an fsb of 333 also.

Set the FSB to 333, leave the CPU multipler at 9x (3.0Ghz), and set the memory multiplier manually to somewhere betwen 2.3 and 2.5 (I dont know the specifics available for that mobo).

As for voltages, ill let an expert give you advice.

My E6600 will do 3Ghz at 1.38V, it varies between processors but that's a good place to start. If it's stable on 1.38V @ 3Ghz, just keep upping it a little more until it becomes unstable, that's a good way to find the max clock on that voltage.

thanks, I have set the FSB to 1333mhz, my system now is at 3ghz. In cpu-z it shows my FSB/DRAM 5:6 is this ok?

thanks
