Hi
What a brilliant site! I would like some advice on an OcUK system. I want to
do some multi-threaded and CUDA development. My son wnats to play
Skyrim. I have chosen the following build.
OcUK Gamer X60i Intel Z87 Mid-Tower
Xigmatek Asgard II Windowed Midi Tower Case - Black/Orange
Intel Core i7 4770 K Edition 3.5GHz Haswell Quad Core
Prolimatech Panther CPU Cooler - Up to Stage 2 Overclock
Gigabyte Z87-HD3 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) 1866MHz Dual Channel
MSI GTX 760 Gaming Series 2048MB GDDR5 Graphics Card
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB Hard Drive
Corsair CX 600W V2 "80 Plus Bronze" Rated Power Supply
Noiseblocker Blacksilent Pro 120mm PWM Fan
Now the last time I built a PC it was using an Intel 8086 and a kilo
or so of solder so I am a bit rusty on hardware. I want to use an
Nvidia Tesla card when they are cheaper, can I plug one into the
motherboard above? Is it easy to flip between the onboard graphics
and the GTX 760 or will I need to reinstall drivers each time?
Have I missed something in the spec. above, could anyone recommend
other choices given my budget is £1000?
One more thing, will my Dell LCD monitor (two years old) work
happily with the GTX 760?
Thanks
Dom
