Advice on overclocking my CPU and GPU.

Just bought a Discrete graphics card to pair up with my APU and going to disable the IGPU.

I have a Ryzen 2200g and rx580 8gb.

What is the safe max temp for both when stress testing ?

What would be safe voltages for both when stress testing ?.

And whilst writing this i did a practice run for my cpu testing on OCCT and noticed that not only was my
Cpu temp rising as expecting my GPU was also getting hot. Is this normal for the GPU to be running hot whilst CPU stress testing ?

I have the evo cooler installed on my CPU it keeps it nice and cool. It idles around 28c and hits max 70c and even less when the Side panel is off.

Yeah My Case isn't great but really didnt wanna go and buy a decent case for a budget gaming rig was hoping i could DIY it or throw some cheap fans on the GPU to get it to drop 10c.

Truth is with the PC side panel removed it hits 75c doing the furmark stress test which is great and will stick around that spot for 10/15 mins.

However if i put the side back on... it will hit 80+ within 3 mins and im sure if i left it to keep going it would gradually keep going up 1c.

The case is limiting 1 intake space ( side ) and 1 exhaust. have silent wings on the back and my 2200g stock fan on side vent as its more powerful than the cheap one that came with the case.

I have both fans on full speed which helps keep the PC cool when its not under a heavy load but doesnt next to nothing when temps get toasty.

Any suggestions ? ive already undervolted the card.. tried placing a couple of my cheap fans that were lying about on the tower floor pointing up towards gfx card but no joy.

You could take out the metal brackets under the graphics card to allow more air in.

Thats something i actually did, I have 5 80mm fans on their way and was going to put 2 of them standing upwards against those exposed cover areas to exhaust air.

Then put another 2 at the option front area ( it is blocked by the case cover but im hoping it may draw some cool air in from the gaps..)

Leaving me with one/two to sit on the bottom of the PC tower maybe pointing up towards the gfx for more air to cool it or would this be a bad idea to push air fast at the gfx fans maybe disrupt its flow etc...

So i'm back after fitting a few more fans and its done 0% difference in controlling temps.

So the fans i have are as follows.

2 x80mm intake fans at front of tower running full speed - however they are covered by the pc front panel but was hoping they would draw cool air in from between any gaps.
1 x120mm exhaust fan at back of tower running full speed - the exhaust fan just under where the psu sits at the top/back of the case.
1 x 80mm exhaust fan at back of tower running full speed. - ive placed this under GPU against the spare pci slots which i removed for more airflow... so its sits directly under gpu parallel with the top exhaust.
1 x stock wraith cooler i wasnt using anymore on the tower side panel intaking air running at full speed.

With all these running doing intensive GPU stress tests still climbing over 80c. aim to keep it below 75c as intended for my GPU.

Yeah thats with it undervolted, not quite as low as you have put but lower than stock i need it at 1060 to maintain my 1400mhz oc and also 97- mv for 2200 or vram oc but still much lower than it was at stock.

Doers that side fan have a duct to direct it to the CPU? If so, you may be better off with a CPU cooler that blows down onto the CPU rather than one that blows across it. Something like one of these, plus fan:

Those two front fans aren't going to be much help as they have no source of cool air.

Perhaps a silly question, but is there sufficient space underneath the case to allow the bottom fans to actually pull in cool air? You've not got the PC sat on carpet, for instance?

Its the Hyper 212 Evo that i bought to replace the wraith cooler the Apu came with. As for the intake on the side panel it kind of blows in just to the side of the intake on the cpu.

So it would be blowing in and hitting the mobo just before the CPU intake fan.

Reversing the lower fan might be a good shout i just thought with the amount of intakes i had getting more out would be a shout ?

Plus with the bottom rear intaking along with the front two intaking would that cause any kind of issues ? would have air doing this ----> <------ along the bottom ?

I have some spare 80mm fans i had considered placing on the bottom of the tower pointing upwards to blow some air up to the gpu etc...

I gotta watch though with all these fans if my 550w Psu will be enough ?

Reckon my 550w is sufficient enough ?

Edit: missed a question first time round.

The PC has feet and it sits on wooden floor so there is about maybe a cm or less off the ground ? as for the front intakes i thought they may be drawing air in from any gaps at front and possibly from just under the cover towards bottm. When i place hand in that area.. i can feel air coming in although not plentiful... but every little helps ?

Cool apart from the from intakes which took a bit of effort with the front cover the other fans i can mess around with... gonna put the bottom outtake into a intake and maybe toss a few 80mm on the floor of tower pointing upwards to blow some cool air directly onto gpu

was just worried blowing air into the GPU fans might mess with their speeds.. break em etc.

Yeah could creat a little rack to sit on. i've noticed there is a small gap at the bottom/front where air could be coming in if needed.

Would it be damaging to blow air directly onto the gpu fans ?

The fans themselves will be drawing air, would it damage them for me to be blowing air to them ? fan blowing on fan to increase cool air getting into the gpu.
