Hi Guys, First time posting on this site so be gentle :D

It's been a few months since I put together my watercooled build, and it just doesn't suit me. I'm a stand out in the crowd, do something different kinda person. My build is nice to look at but I don't get that "Wow" feeling when I look at it. It's too mainstream for my tastes.

Now I know it's not a new idea, but I want to build a mineral oil PC. Don't really care about the cons, the pros way out-way them. Planning on using most of my current hardware (In signature) Although HDD's will be moved to a NAS and Titan Blacks will be upped to Titan X's, Which I imagine is going to produce some serious heat so Rads would be involved. (Although may lose one of the GPU's to lessen the heat output)

However I'm not sure of a suitable tank to use or a clean and neat way of securing the components within the tank, I know most people use an acrylic sheet but that seems tacky to me. The tank needs to be no bigger than ATX ish size although I will be downsizing to an MATX Board.

My Job provides the skills and the cash, I just don't have the knowledge. My first time in this sort of weight class. Any help would be appreciated :)

A fish tank with something custom made to hang the board in the oil? I'm not sure there is a great deal of "off the shelf" components for this sort of thing.

Been looking through Amazon and can't find anything that might be a suitable size and shape. May take a trip down to a pet store with a tape measure tommorrow.

I know, It's a shame the Puget Systems Kit was removed from the market.

Could always get the glass cut to the size you need and make your own tank. Fish tanks are only built with silicone sealant.

A silly idea in my opinion.

There are several ways to 'stand out from the crowd'

Desk PC

Some of our members have created really good looking machines with a bit of creativity and effort - here's just one that impressed me

If you are dead set on immersing your components in mineral oil be aware there are issues - it will be as heavy as my wife (monstrous), you'll get oil creep up any cables that leave the tank that will require constant attention and you'll have to make sure the oil is constantly circulating to avoid equipment killing hotspots.

Can it be done? Yes. Is it worth it? (in my opinion) - No.

Hey, I've researched this for month, fully aware of the issues and still think it's worth it, gotta try everything once eh :) The "Desk PC concept" doesn't intrigue me, it's just not challenging enough

I think my rig at current is acceptable in the PC community it just doesn't excite me. You know?
