Hey Guys,

So i built my gaming rig a few months back and i put in 4GB Ram it was this kit here.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-056-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

When i am gaming i have a few other programs open like coretemp, EVGA precision and sometimes Skype or Vent.

I am getting up to around 80% or my RAM being used, so i was thinking of upgrading to a 2x4 8GB kit like this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-061-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

Thing is guys i don't have much room under my CPU cooler and i just managed to get the cooler on with the Ripjaw High Ram.

Im sure i can get the RAM out but i think i will have trouble getting another set of Ripjaws in and i really dont want to take the cooler off.

So my question is this.

Do you recommed this kit?

I think i could get these in no problems, but what i want to know is what about Cas Latency ?????

The Ripjaws have a lower Cas Latency and i have been told this is better?
Would i really notice this in gaming ? the difference in the timings?

My Rig

i5 2500 k @4.2 Ghz
MSI P67 GD65
RipJawgb kit

Thanks guys :)

I think you're seeing up to 80% RAM use because WIN7 is clever and uses up the RAM it has available, that is unless you want your RAM to be sitting there doing nothing?

More importantly than the % of RAM being used, how is performance?
Everything I've read here says 4Gig is fine for gaming.

Thanks for the reply, well to be honest i have no performance issues at all.
I just thought that because i am getting up to 80% that it would soon be time to upgrade.

So do you guys think i should hold off from upgrading to 8GB?

I game on this rig 95% of the time and the other 5% just web browsing.

Depends if you feel 4,000,000,000 odd memory locations isn't enough and you feel you need 17,000,000,000 odd.

Unless you're doing stuff that involves loads of instructions or your clock speed isn't what it says on the tin, then I can't see the need for an upgrade.
