Advice on Scooby purchase.

A guy at work is selling his Scooby and has asked whether I am interested in buying as he knew I always liked it.

Its Y reg , silver/pink trim Japanese STi 5R, 280 bhp imodded to 300bhp, I know its well looked after and he has owned it from new.

I asked how many miles it done and he said 95,000 !! which was a lot more than I thought.

He said he has been told its worth around £10 k

This seems quite high to me with that mileage but i dont really know much about them.

Any Scooby experts on here know how much its roughly worth ?

It looks similar to that, with the gold wheels. I think my work mates has more trim though. Is the one in the link really 13 years older though? :eek:

If it's a 5, it's expensive, if its a 6, it sounds about right, maybe a touch high with that mileage.

He told me it was a 5R, what does the 5R / 6R signify ?

Im over 30 with 8 years NCB, driving a 206GTi atm.

I got some quotes last night and the cheapest was over £1700 *GULP* , that was just through confused.com. Though only 2 out of the list did provide a quote. It doesn't help living in Bolton

Are there specialist insurers out thee who are better with cars like these ?
