Not for me, for a mate.

Basically looking for a cheap package that includes domain name, ample hosting space and e-commerce facilities for relatively cheap.

Ideally want to be able to integrate a pre-made shop, shopping cart, checkout system into an existing web page as well, don't want the whole site to be based around some nasty generic shop template :p Especially since the shop is in fact only a small portion of the website.

Now, would like to accept pay pal however I'm really trying to push him towards accepting credit/debit card payments. I know you can do this through ebay but it looks tosh and very unproffesional in my mind, plus the percent they take off and the delay between payment and money actually hitting the bank account.

However if that pushes the price up dramatically then paypal it will have to be.

Also need to know about chargeback protection and stuff, because I know this is rife on ebay, and I'd rather my mate doesn't suffer it as some of the goods he sells cost in excess of £1,000 which for a new starting company is, well a lot!

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

Alec

google search paypal pro payments, it allows, paypal account payment plus will take all major debit/credit cards and its only £20 a month and they take a very low cut. also cubecart it very good and fully intergated with paypal pro payments

Look at things like OSCommerce, Cube Cart or Zen Cart for the shopping side of things - they look after the shop side of things and shopping cart all in one, you just add your payment methods and away you go.

I don't get on with OSC myself, but can vouch for the other two which are nice and easy to install and set up!

Cheers for the tips guys, at least I know what I am looking for.

I must admit I thought paypal fees seemed a bit steep, but actually its not that bad. I see they no longer charge to xfer money to your bank account? Or was I imagining they ever did that? Anyway, thanks again. Paypal payments standard thing should do just fine for now.

Cheers guys
