I want to take up smoking, I hear that's what all the cool kids do.

But seriously, big fans of bbqing and smoked food, only had a gas BBQ the past couple of years so looking forward to doing it properly again.

I think we'll be buying a 57cm weber smokey mountain and a chimney starter from b&q.

What other accessories would you chaps recommend?
Where is a good place to buy some decent wood chunks?
And how much wood is needed for a long (say 10 hour) smoking session?

Also any tips and tricks are welcome, haven't smoked anything before.

Thanks people.

Me too, thought there were some hardcore BBQ fans on here. Thanks for your reply anyway buddy.

For anyone else wanting information or advice on smoking/bbqing using a weber then look here - http://tvwbb.com/
It's a veritable treasure chest of information.

Things are progressing, I have ordered 24kg of Big K restaurant grade lump wood charcoal. I will be ordering the smoker and a 2kg pack of hickory chunks very soon, will buy a box of wood in bulk from here http://bbqsmokingwood.co.uk/ to tide me over for a while afterwards.

I will be buying the Maverick ET-732 wireless temperature probe soon also, but initially will have to make do with a wired probe and having to go outside to check it.

I also think the 57cm will be a tad excessive, so have decided on the 47cm. Most of the time I'm just going to be cooking for 2 people, so the smaller one will be fine.
