i have been mulling over a spec for a while - its mainly for photographic work (usually large files) and artwork hence the 12gb of memory. I already have 4tb network storage, OS etc.....my max budget is £1200 - what do you think of the following (I am not interested in OCing or gaming):

Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz (Bloomfield) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail + Assassin's Creed II Game £234.99

Intel X25-M Mainstream 80GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive (SSDSA2MH080G2C1) £189.99

Asus P6T SE Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard £140.99

2 x (Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Low Latency Tri-Channel) total of 12gb - £259.96

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £124.98

Antec 900 Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - Black £72.99

OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply £59.98

Western Digital Caviar Green 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AADS) £40.98

Akasa AK-CC017 Freedom Tower CPU Cooler (Socket AM2 / AM3 / 775 / 1156 / 1366) £29.99

Sony Optiarc AD-5240S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £16.99

Total - £1171.84

You could always bump down to the 40GB Intel SSD, and drop the 930 to the 920, that would reduce above by another ~£130ish.

I assume from your spec you dont need a monitor/peripherals?

i was wondering about the size of the ssd, so i went larger to be on the safe side.

the only extra peripheral i need is an internal cardreader, but it looks like OCers is out of stock at moment.

I wouldent go ssd because i dont trust there stability, i'd stick with a decent high quality black edition 1TB harddisk from here.
