Upgraded from a Razer Salmosa to a Razer DeathAdder just recently. The Salmosa is a small, light (52g!) mouse designed to be used with a claw grip. The DeathAdder is about 3x as heavy and is bigger and I'm having a lot of bother trying to get used to this mouse.

Does anyone have a DA and any advice on how it's supposed to be held? Using it in a claw grip style is difficult because that involves lots of picking up and putting down the mouse, and with the DA being so heavy this is a big PITA.

Put it into the natural curve of your hand, the back end of the mouse should be touching the bottom of your palm and your fingers should just rest on the buttons with your pinky + ring finger over the edge of the mouse, both fingers should be able to just sit on the plastic side due to the friction between your fingers + the plastic. Just line it up so the end of your fingers go to the top edge of the mouse, everything else should just fit into place. It will feel slightly odd because the mouse will touch a lot of your hand, compared to a claw since you basically just slap your hand ontop and let mavity keep your hand molded to the shape of the mouse....

Makes sense in my head at least.
I use a naga atm, but I used to use a deathadder before I wanted a naga for MMO's.

Oh and btw, claw grip works on the deathadder, its just bigger and not so claw like, just put your hand on the desk (palm on desk), then your fingers at the top edge of the mouse, bend them to your desired angle and then bump the mouse backwards till it hits the back of your hand. This will create a semi-claw like snug hold that you might find comfortable, I certainly did.

Polling rate should be like 1000 or highest the mouse goes I believe.
DPI is down to your preference and how quick you want the mouse to move across your screen, I use 3000 DPI myself, just experiment abit till you feel the mouse isn't going too slow or too fast.
Also don't use acceleration :)
