Hi, i'm new to the oc forums and would appreciate your advice on a system to suit my needs. Due to illness i'm going to be spending more time indoors and would like a reliable quick system which would last for a few years. I'd be looking for an x64 system so i can take advantage of the increased ram and a fast graphics card. AT the moment i have a very old system and i play a few online games with extreme difficulty. I'm also a member of a site called second life and i design cars and boats and upload them to the site. This generally works fine till i get them on site and install the scripts to make them move when my fps just won't keep up any more. So something to alleviate this problem would be extremely desirable. I would have a round £500 to £600 pounds to spend and would be very grateful if someone could advise on this. I saw this one http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-344-OE which is the AMD x4 RAID perhaps with 8gb of Ram and wondered if that may fulfil the purpose . I also do a lot of general browsing. Thankyou , gavh.

Thanks mickyflinn for such a quick reply. That sounds amazing and didn't expect so much for that kind of money and i appreciate you taking the time as i get so confused with wondering if one thing will be compatible with another etc. I am sold on the SSD and wondered if i would be able to run Windows Vista Ultimate or if a later OS would be preferrable and if so then could some costs be reduced to offset that of a new OS, although i am reluctant to do that, but still have the option to upgrade to your full spec at a later date.

Many thanks again,

gavh.

Thanks again mickyflinn for some great advice......much appreciated....and a good solution although after some thought i think i will try and stretch to a new OS as well as it will be worth it in the long run. Hopefully i'll be able to order within the next couple of weeks. Many thanks once more.......i can put the headache tablets away now....gavh

Thanks Deus Ex for your reply and taking time out to read my post......i think my problem has been solved .......gavh
