Advice on theft please

I'm surprised they haven't cancelled your card if there is a fraud suspicion. Halifax have done it straight away when I twice had to phone them.

When the change the card the old one is completely cancelled.

I'm well aware of that. They haven't done that for the OP though. If somebody has had their bank account compromised they should be cancelling the card straight away, as it can also end up costing the bank. In the case of the OP all he said they did was confirm some transactions were made. That to me sounds like either the OP isn't sure whether it's fraud, or the call centre operator doesn't know what they are doing.

Not to sound racist but the Indian call centenary are ridiculous, I had to deal with one to cancel and Xbox live subscription, I ended up getting charged twice. Luckily Lloyds TSB use uk call centres. The banks earn enough money to hire English staff, all they have to do is stop buying yaughts :D

Edit: I should say that I work for the Barclays claims team in Coventry. If you want to check the validity of that number you can do it on the Baclays site.

Ahhh Westwood park. The place that never lets me in because of the stupid new policy of having to have a passholder "walk you over" to the other buildings.

Indeed, for the lols etc. :p

After a trip down to the bank, some phone numbers and 3 hours waiting and listening to that infernal racket they call music it is finally on it's way back to me. Bit of paperwork and job done.

Job interview tomorrow and fingers crossed I will be on my way to employment and owning a KTM 690 SMC.

Thank you all for your help. What might not be a big issue to you chaps for me that was more or less every penny i own so I am glad it is getting sorted.

Thanks again :D

So today arrived some jewelry. Nothing that was purchased from that website. These are the 10 for a £1 type plastic bracelets. No return address. Now I am wondering what the hell is going on...

That was ordered as a tester transaction to see if your card details were valid, a standard thing to do by anyone that has them
