Hello all. This is going to be my first build so I'm trying to find my feet. I would really appreciate any advice on whether you think this is a good build for my needs.

I would like to play games on my pc: W.O.T - W.O.W - Oxygen Not Included and maybe some other strategy type games.
I would also like to make, edit videos and also make music on it.
I don't really intend on Overclocking but maybe later down the line who knows? I'm not too sure what it involves really and don't want to wreck my PC.

I originally thought about a Ryzen 5 3600 but after reading a bit on here and other forums decided to go with a Ryzen 5 5600X. Is it worth going for Ryzen 7?

Decided to put a cooler in the build as not sure the stock one would be up to it. Don't want to find out down the line that it would have been better just to swap it at the beginning. I like the look of the cooler and it goes with the case brand, plus the extra fans I will be using. Are x4 Fans enough? 2 fans come with the case.

The motherboard was a a hard choice, but this one seems ok for the price. I don't need WIFI, it doesn't have RGB, has x6 Fan Headers and the BIOS is meant to be easy navigate and Flash for the 5600X. I can put x2 M.2 on it. I will be using the 500GB just for the OS and other programs that have to go on the drive. Will use the 1TB for storage. I was going to buy a 1TB 2.5" SSD for storage but the price difference between them isn't a lot plus the speed will be better. Also gone with NVME for speed and the cost isn't that much different again.

Have chosen these RAM because I can't decide between them. I know that Speed is better but then there is Latency (my head got fried reading about this). Also will 16Gb be enough? I plan to get more RAM in the future at some point when I have some spare money but would buy more now if needed.

Thought that 650W Power Supply would be enough for my needs. Not sure whether I should go with Fully or Semi Modular, price difference is about £30. Went with Corsair because of the good reviews and 7 year warranty on them.

The video card was a nightmare. As you all know it's a bad time to be buying GPU's now. I want to buy the best I can for the best (lowest) price. My range would be around £500 - £600, maybe a bit more if it was worth it or less if I could get away with it.
I went for this GPU as it seems to be pretty decent for the money and I can put it in another build I am going to do, that won't be used for gaming that much, later on in the year. When the market sorts itself out I will buy the more expensive GPU.
Also is it better to have more RAM or a higher Core Clock (yet again my head got fried reading about this).

I have tried to keep the cost of the build down but as you all know this is easier said than done. I don't want to compromise the build for the sake of a few quid. Rough price for this build is around £1400.

I have included a monitor and OS as I will need both. I have gone for an IPS monitor due to wanting to make videos.

I hope that I have included everything here information wise, let me know if I haven't. Feel free to pick it apart if you think I'm wrong. It's taken me ages to decide what to buy and I know people have different likes and dislikes. As I stated at the beginning of the thread, this is my first time of building a PC. All your advice will be greatly appreciated!

Is that just a typo? Go same speed. No Ryzen expert but 3600 better and 2x16 rather than 4x8GB? There have been a few posts on this topic.
The 5600X looks like overkill with RX 580, but great for future gpu upgrades, maybe consider s 750W psu with that in mind. Nice build though ;)

No typo Turbot, I can't decide between the 3200 CL16 or 3600 CL 18. Will have a look at the posts on this. The RX 580 is only a stop gap until the GPU market calms down. Intend to get a better GPU.

Get the 3600 its ideal for the 5600x but a rx 580 is crazy overpriced and get a 750w psu that will cover you up to a 3080.

Don't pay silly prices for a RX580 or any other card for that matter. The only RX580 in stock on OCUK is a crazy £360 which is massively over the price they launched at 3 years ago. Prices are just ridiculous.

I can get the RX for £280 which is still over priced. It's a bad time to buy at the moment. Which GPU do you think would be suitable at this time? Or is it better to hang on a bit?

I will go for a 750W power supply then. Semi or fully modular?

Is it worth getting 32GB or will 16GB do?

Modular psu better, maybe go 32GB RAM if video editing etc.?
