Advice on Tri-SLI?

I'm thinking of moving towards a Tri-SLI setup and want to get a little advice if possible. I have just bought the Z87X-OC Force motherboard as it supports SLI and my current motherboard doesn't. I have a single Gainward Phantom 780 which currently struggles to perform at 1440P. My thoughts are that as these cards a quite cheap, I could get some serious performance improvements by moving to SLI (or Tri-SLI).

Is this a wise move? Would it be better to and buy a newer card when they arrive?

Do I need a special PSU with extra graphics connectors? How do I know which ones will suffice?

Is there anything else I need to know before I make the jump?

SLI will be sweet for 1440P. I would recommend a 1000W + PSU named brand (superflower).

With SLI, you have to be aware of the extra heat and noise that will be produced but other than that, there isn't much else to worry about. SLI is catered for quickly with nVidia and quite often even before a game is released, it has profiles for SLI.

850 watt PSU is plenty for 2-way SLI. Tri-SLI 1200 watt
