Advice on two builds.

Ok so I have a super ultra wide monitor (Samsung with freesync) 3840x1080 at 144hz. Water cooled Gtx 1080 with an i7 6700k.

It seems like this GPU struggles to keep the monitor at 144hz whilst playing dota 2.

so what GPU would you guys say I need to run this smoothly? Should I buy a second 1080 and run them in SLI? Or should I sell the 1080 and buy a different GPU?



Second question; I’m going to build a new main computer that will run the new Samsung G9 super ultra wide. Mainly for playing dota 2 and ArchiCAD. Which GPU would you go for? The 3080 or 3070? I do want atleast 144hz. This computer will also be linked to the LG CX 4k at 120hz.

for the CPU side I’ve never had a AMD but the reviews look like they are good. I am going to wait for the next lot of intel and Ryder releases. Will intel still be at 14nm? Is intel worth it or will it get outdated fast?

If your going to build another main rig is it really worth upgrading the other one??
Cant recomend a 3070 until the reviews come in but I would assume going on the 3080 results that should run your ultrawide at 144hz no problems. Ignore SLI. Let it die out where it belongs.

Looking at the archiCAD specs you would need a ryzen 9 3900 or 3950 for best results.

Again until independant reviews are out of both AMD and Intels latest and greatest its hard to recomend anything new.
