Advice on unlocking PII 550

This might seem dumb and patronising, but everyone should make sure their RAM is absolutely 100% stable before fiddling with overclocks and unlocks.

My experience has been less than positive with RAM timings and voltages on teh am3 platform e.g. my asus mobo needs to have the RAM timings set and the voltage set much higher than stock in order to become stable.
 
This may not affect you; I am running some Gskill RAM on an asus m4a79 xtd evo board and I had to manually set all of the timings and voltages.

I used the settings listed on the gskill forums for similar ram and another asus board in order to achieve stability. The SPD timings were not working properly and the voltage was too low for the RAM

Also is your RAM not meant to run at 1.65v?
