Hi Guys,

I've had my pc for a while now and I am looking to spruce it up a bit

I'll list current spec as best as possible -

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz

P55-US3L gigabyte

AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series ATI - Memory: 1.0 GB Think it is 5770??

TeamGroup Xtreem LV 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17000C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit (TXD38G2133HC11DC01)
G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL)

OCZ StealthXStream 500w Silent Power Supply

Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD753LJ)

OCZ Vertex 2E 60GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive

Asus Xonar D1 7.1 PCI Sound Card

Windows 7

I've got a feeling my G card needs a good update but will it be as simple as get a new one and swap them over? is the mobo still good etc?

The rams being diff sizes / makes much difference?

Will a updated i5 cpu work in the mobo would it be worth it hah?

to many questions sorry just after some opinions on what you would do with it.

Thanks,

Will

Whack in an i7 920, new CPU cooler, overclock the hell out of it, drop in a new GPU, job done. Great gaming machine.

i7 920 is for socket 1366. He has 1156. The newer i5 cpu's use a completely different socket and 1155 replaced yours and then that was replaced with the current socket 1150 so no, a new cpu will not fit your current board. Overclock the 750, most will hit 4Ghz easily enough with a decent cooler. All you need then is a decent graphics card. The psu, while not great, has dual 18A 12v rails giving a max of 432w so should be enough for a high end single card although it is getting on a bit now.
