Hi All,

Currently looking at upgrading my current rig. I recently purchased a 1080TI to replace my GTX1060 to power my new Alienware Monitor : AW3418DW. My current spec is as follows:

Asus P8Z77-V LX
Intel I7 3770k
Corsair H100 AIO CPU cooler
Cooler MAster Silent Pro 700W PSU
16gb RAM - 4x4gb Corasir
Zotec 1080TI 12gb blower edition
Samsung 840evo 250GB (Primary)
Crucial BX200 250GB SSD(Games)
Western Digital 4TB (Storage Drive)
Case Fractal Design ARC Mini R2 Tower Case

I've gone with Intel as i read that PUBG (which is main game i currently play) didn't run as well on AMD hardware due to how it was endcoded etc... of course this may have been resolved through firmware/software updates.

I'm considering the following as replacement for the Motherboard/CPU/Memory/Primary HDD.

Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Ultra Gaming Intel Z370 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
Intel i7-8700k
Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit
Samsung 970 EVO Polaris 500GB M.2 2280 PCI-e 3.0 x4 NVMe Solid State Drive

Another thing I would like clarity on is whether my current AIO cooler will be suitable for the socket and CPU if I was to go this route and if not which is the best to buy currently?

I've not really set a budget aside but at max £800. What are others thoughts? I would also consider an AMD alternative but as said need to know they run PUBG okay, also seen issues with matching the RAM and upgrading motherboard firmware before the new chips can be used which presents a potential mine filed i wish to avoid.

Many thanks.

I have an all amd build (admittedly far far lower speck than you are looking at) and it plays pubg ok now (driver/ optimization has helped)
But if you want to be the king of gaming yeah the intel 8700k or wait if you want for the 9700 so you have more time with a top end cpu rather than a nearing end of cycle one. intels better ipc tends to make it better at gaming.
nice system btw

Thanks all. So possibly best to wait for the next Intel chips. I should be good to do so for a month or so if the October release date is correct.

Hi looking to breathe fresh air into this request. Still looking for to upgrade my current motherboard+CPU+Memory. Recently purchased a 500GB Samsung 970 Evo for use as primary drive when I take plunge on new parts.

Is your 3770k overclocked? You should be able to get it to somewhere around 4.5Ghz.

I have totally no idea on how to overclock so i'm sat at stock speeds.

Looking for recommendations.
