Yo guys,

I need some advice with regards to purchasing a low-mid end system, primarily it will be a gaming rig for WoW and BF3 when it comes out.
I have my eye on two systems First is
the http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-210-OK
(Titan Krypt with a GTX 460 OC)
Second is
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-168-OE
(Cataclysm "Hogger")
I was leaning towards the AMD model but as I am not very knowledgable about computers, i googled the CPU and came across some negative feedback from this very site.
Then i decided I should get my 2nd choice but a friend advised that I shouldnt be paying so much for an i3 setup.
So now iam stuck between the 2, I have a budget of around 600.00 but this has to include an OS so in reality looking at around 550-570.
Any help/advise would be much appreciated.

I was opting for the lazy option but what you did there by posting what i could get if i just put in a couple hours of work..

Thank you man, I think I will deff go for the i5 setup you posted, again thank you :D

hello again,
I went with option 1, got all my parts on thursday, sadly its failing to boot up, the machine powers up for about 2 seconds then powers down again, thats only if i try turning it on without plugging in the 8 pin 12v slot, if i have both 24pin and 8pin plugged in the machine refuses to even turn on at all.
so in essence i have messed up, not sure where trawling google as we speak :D
any help would be appreciated

The 6950 needs two 6pin power leads in it, the PSU has one. Did you use the supplied adapter?

thank you for the quick reply, i checked, the only adaptor that came with my psu was for a 4pin to 8 pin, i think the psu that iam using on my old machine has this adaptor, i will try to scavenge failing that can i buy one via oc or a high street retailer?

yep it was, found a spare adapator, and it seems to be working now, wish i could take credit for finding the adaptor but it was my mother and her scary ass robot memory...
ty for the help again

So install windows, all the drivers on the motherboard disk, the latest ATI drivers for your card from the ATI website.
