Advice on upgrades.

Instead of building a brand new PC, I'm considering upgrading in stages as I have a tight budget.

My current specs -

E6750 2.66Ghz
2GB DDR2 Ram PC2-5300 (Old stuff now)
Gigabyte G31M-ES2L Motherboard (Cheap motherboard, purchased on a budget)
HD 4850 512MB Graphics card

PSU + Case is fine.

I purchased a 24" Full HD monitor recently but haven't tried any games on it yet, I used to play WoW using a 19" monitor and this spec was fine for that, should I expect much of a slow down using a 24" full HD monitor?

Also, could you give me some advice on what I should upgrade first? For the first upgrade I'll only have about £60 to spend, so I'm thinking 2X2GB DDR2 RAM?

Cheers

If you can get a used Q6600, to work on you mobo, then get 2X2GB id say.

I'm thinking that a 24" is going to make your graphics card struggle.

How many stages are you looking for? Because if you were to overclock the cpu, you'd get better performance - especially in such a cpu intensive game as WoW.

Seeing as your budget is only £60, that rules a graphics card upgrade out for the time being, so I would look at getting a new motherboard and cooler and overclocking the cpu. (Normally, I would spec a motherboard, but Im not clued up on LGA775 socket motherboards :p They were before I started getting into tech xD)

I'd then save a bit of money, and get a new graphics card (such as a GTX460 ~£140 atm).

Upgrading the ram will only give you around a 1-2fps boost at most, so its not really worth the money when it can be better spent elsewhere.

Hmm with my current rig I would have expected to play WoW with full GFX. Now I remember why I switched to console gaming... PC Gaming is just to expensive.
