Hey guys,
Im looking to upgrade my graphics card and i havent got a clue which one to get. Im willing to spend upto around £300 at the most. I dont have any intentions on running two cards, just after a good single card that will last me awhile.
Im running an intel i5 2.66 and 4gb duel channel ram, so i dont think they will hinder any performance.

Cheers

I have come from 2 4870's Xfire to a single 6970 and gaming is so smooth and so much more detail its stunning ;)

6950's are a great buy i must admit, i will go for another card and i will keep it a 6970, iv'e invested in one so might as well

If you went 6950 i can't see you ever looking back and regretting your purchase.

ive just jumped from a 4890 , went for a 6950 (unlocked) and its been a nice jump up

go for a 6950 :)

I am also looking to upgrade my 4890.
I was on the verge of ordering a 6970 but then I read some reviews which suggested that the GTX 570 is comparable to (and sometimes better than) the 6970.
Not sure what to do now.

I went from a sapphire 4850 x2 2GB to a sapphire 6970 and found it a nice jump in performance.

I also looked at the 570, but theirs nothing in it and just depends on which games you play. Main reason I went for the 6970 is some times I like to play FSX on my 46" TV, which meant the 6970 was the best card for that resolution.

I recently made the move from a 4890 to a 6970.

Performance is great however DX11 et cetera is not worth the upgrade. If you want your games to play smoother at highest settings then yes go for 6950 but if it's more of an upgrade itch and you know that you don't really have to upgrade - I wouldn't bother and wait for next gen.

The 4890 still performs well in games at 1920 res.
