hi guys i need some advice once again i know im clown but a novice has to start somewhere.

first of all can you plz explain what to look for in a gpu when buying and what are you guys overclocking on the gpu

im planning on buying two gpu £300 total buget cant afford 670 and 680

motherboard Asus Maximums Formula Thunder FX need to order but still modding the case.

case cooler master cosmos 2

its going to be customized water-cooled top 360 or 420 and 2 dual 240 rads in bottom. dual loop

maybe get 850 corsair ax

function of rig

learning to edit in Photoshop and 3d rendering, gaming, watch movies blue ray and 3d movies

i want to have 3 monitors but because i do 3d stereoscopic rendering and watch 3d movies.

so i was thinking use 2 nividia cards 1 card to run 2 ips monitors and 1 3d montoir or three 3d monitors.

sorry dont no much about monitors

really dont know that's why im asking i know amd do infinity with 1 gpu but not sure about 3d any way i know you guys can advise and recommend me which way to go with explanation to why .

look forward to your advise

thanks for nothing

what dont you understand im simply asking what 2 gpu to go for with £300 budget for the things i do and which can connect 3 monitors.

i ve been busy with learning other stuff didn't get chance to research on gpus and monitors so that's why i thought ill ask here to get heads up.

hope that explain a bit better

Nope. Not really lol.

Your best bet is to go with Nvidia, considering you'd want the more mature 3Dvison as opposed to whatever AMD use. Also having CUDA would help with rendering etc...

Best two cards i can think of that fall in your budget are the 560's

1Gb of Vram might be the problem, due to 3 screens & 3D.
A single 670 now and add a second later might be the best bet though.

Just my two pence.

I would go for a 670 and add another further down the line. Jimhaumman is getting his post count up so will reply to every thread with no help at all :(

Also, as you will be running 3 screens, I would be tempted by the 4GB 670 for better future proofing and then when your budget allows add another.

Definitely nvidia then :)

i want to have 3 monitors but because i do 3d stereoscopic rendering and watch 3d movies.
Do you mean 3x 3D monitors or just 3 monitors of any kind for working purposes?

so i was thinking use 2 nividia cards 1 card to run 2 ips monitors and 1 3d montoir or three 3d monitors.
Just get 1x 670, that'll run all 3 :)

Nvidias 3D vision is better than AMDs offerings, although AMD do do (heheh) 3D by means of Tridef software

look forward to your advise

thanks guys for your reply

sorry i didn't make it clear it was late when i wrote that

basically i need 3 screens 1 to do photo editing, 2nd screen for gaming and third screen to view 3d.

i went up to local comapny and the guy advised me i need two nivida gpu to run either 3 3d monitors which could turn back two 2d or use two normal monitors and 1 3d monitor.

not sure about about 3d back in to 2d for photo editing, and gaming and watching blur ray or will i be ok with 3 3d monitors?

so which gpu shall i get and how many and which monitors shall i get
the mother board im getting is asus maximums v thunder fx

Firstly, you're not allowed to mention competitors

The tasks you want to do can't be done simultaneously, are you sure you need/want 3 monitors?

as in, you can't play a game and do work at the same time :p

Ok, in that case go to the monitors section for their input on what monitors to buy. As for graphics card, as you're watercooling, go for an EVGA GTX670 FTW. This card takes a 680 block. Also, why do you want dual loops?

hahaha made me laugh out loud i know i cant play games nad work at the same time

going to water cool the mother board Asus Maximumus v Thunder fx 2 gpus, 1 cpu and maybe rams. i have the cosmos 2 so i enough enough room to add another res in there and have enough space to route the tubes nicely and the fact it wll look nice to the eyes.

Well there's no need to get 2 2420ts, it's pointless tbh. Either get three of them to play in 3d surround /120hz surround or get one for 3d/120hz gaming and a secondary monitor for extra work space.

I run the 2420t as primary and game on it. I have a cheapo samsung monitor that's a few years old as my secondary for assignments etc.

regarding photo editing i have no idea, it's not my thing. Try asking in the monitor forum. I imagine they will tell you a good ips is better.

ok i will head over to the monitor section but to make sure the Evga gtx 670 FTW 1 gpu for now will be fine with what ever 3 monitor setup i go for?

If you're going to game in Surround (3 monitors) they should ideally be the same. If you start mixing up IPS/TN panels and 60hz/120hz it's going to look a bit odd.
