the whining sound from my H100 is driving me mad so ive decided to dump it and get a proper WC setup

ive decided to go with the XSPC RayStorm block and the XSPC EX240 rad

im using a Silverstone TJ09 which is not the best case for water cooling so i think my only option regarding the pump/reservoir is one of those 5.25 bay jobbies

but im not sure which to get

the full raystorm kit comes with XSPC D5 Dual Bay Reservoir which cost £120

while with the Rasa kit which i considered in the past you get the XSPC X2O 750 Dual 5.25” Bay Reservoir Pump which is half the price

i currently plan to cool a 2700K @ 4.8 1.34v but i do have a 670 SLI setup which i might WC in the future (i can add a extra 120 Rad easily enough)

Is the more expensive pump worth the massive price difference also is there anything else in the build i can improve on

Thanks

The D5 kit is definitely worth the extra - especially if you are adding the 670's at a later date. The pump will handle everything you want now and in the future, the block is great quality and seems to be a very popular choice (use one myself) and the fittings are compression which are generally regarded as safer.

Might be worth looking at the RX240 kit (thicker rad) if it will fit in your case.

+1 just got the rx360 on wissels advice really pleased with it and like you I will be cooling my 680s from the D5 pump combo too.

Thanks for the info

But what makes that pump so much better

Is it the flow rate, noise, reliability? etc

Also noise is very important that’s the reason I’m changing from the H100

Fan noise wasn’t the problem is was the pump vibrating/rattling/whining

will I encounter anything like that with the XSPC

The D5 is the most powerful consumer pump i can think of, incredibly relaible and absolutely silent!

The bay res pump is audible, but can be ignored aswell. I personally find the soundextremely annoying
