Advice please for new pc

I. Cancelled my phenom order as I am undecided what to do I need memory CPU and mobo I read that the i3 is faster than even an quad core phenom ESP. If it overclocks to 4ghz
so I use comp mostly for gaming ie bfbc2 and arma2 etc.
I know they take advantage of quad cores so iam I better geting a phenom 555 and tryig to unlock it fast ddr2 and mobo or
i3 ddr3 and mobo ?

Tbh it all depends on your budget.

If your thinking about a 555be then IMO your better of going for AMD and spending the difference on a better graphics card

The phenom is a good route to take if you want a dual core processor with the possibility of core unlocking. This is because the unlocks are by no means guaranteed, and even if you do unlock there is no certainty that it will be stable. After all, the third core is usually turned off for a reason. Other than that they're pretty similar as is RAM performance
