Hi guys,
I'm looking to retire the trusty q6600 build and get something new. I'm after something pretty future proof, so a bit of OC'ing, a decent monitor, 2tb storage, and SFF primarily...not much space now! I've got a budget of £1200 max (ish!)
This is a build i'd put together but have questions about space for the HDD with the cooler...Anyone used this combo?

PS. Ignore the video card...that's just to swap with the one in the old pc. I'll also use the Silverstone short cables kit...gives a bit more room :-)

Thanks for any advice

ok, I went through the spec and changed to cheaper ram, bigger SSD and cheaper monitor. I think I've found a way to fit the ODD and 3.5 HDD easily too whilst saving a bit of money! I can velcro the SSD somewhere, they're small enough...
I like the Silverstone cases but I still prefer the looks of this more :-)
It'll all fit i'm sure....!

hi,
I think you can just use a full size ODD in the 120 case, if you use a slimline it will leave you a gap to fill.
Shop a round for the motherboard and save a bit, or what about the gygabyte Z77 one ?( I have an Asrock Z68 and its great though , also same SSD)

As far as I could see the Lian Li adaptor fitted into the standard ODD slot and converted it to fit a slimline version, with a 3.5 HDD drive fitted underneath into the same bay?
I'd kinda fixed on the asrock board :) seemed good OC'ing and wifi at reasonable costs...
I'd thought about 16gb RAM but decided it'd be overkill, and a bigger SSD would yield greater benefits!

You could use this, it will give you room to fit up to 4 SSD's and a slimline slot load optical drive in the 5.25" slot.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Silverstone 5.25" Slim ODD Bay with Internal 2.5" Bay - Black (SST-FP58B) £12.98
Total : £15.96 (includes shipping : £2.48).

Have seen cheaper versions of the same thing kicking about the web too

Yeah i'd seen this too, but 2.5 HDD's are double the money for a big capacity one, and slower I think?...So i'd hoped to find some way of keeping a 3.5 HDD.
